Are you sitting down? I know I am even though I don’t want to be. The older I get, the more I’ve come to realize that humans are not designed to sit at a desk all day and stare at computer screens. Don’t worry, the irony is not lost on me. I am a writer, and most of my day jobs have been in some sort of knowledge work. Both careers that involved a buttload of sitting. And staring at screens. It’s taken a toll on me physically, mentally, psychologically, but I’ve recently developed an antidote to it: Walking and Talking. More commonly known as dictation.

Since September, I have dictated a novella and a full-length novel. All while walking on a treadmill in the morning before I go to my day job. And that’s not all. I am currently in the process of dictating the first draft of a SECOND full-length novel. I get up at an ungodly hour, sure, but then after brushing my teeth, and strapping on my shoes, I hit the ole treadmill and start rambling. I’ve never been so prolific. It took me almost three years to write my first novel. Now, we are on the cusp of me writing and releasing at least two new novels and three novellas this year alone. And it’s only February.

There’s something magical about walking and talking that has allowed a wealth of creative potential to spring from my wacky mind. If you’re interested in learning more, just Google “creativity and walking.” You’ll find university studies, psychology articles, TED talks, and more. I, for one, know it works, and I’m hooked.

If you’re interested in reading the first fruit of my ambulatory labor, I’ve posted an advance copy of my new novella, Help Desk, on the Ace Tucker Space Trucker Patreon page. Any level of patron ($0.99 or higher) has instant access to the new novella, as well as Lot Lizard and the first Ace Tucker Space Trucker novel. Additionally, you’ll get access to all the uncensored episodes of the Ace Tucker Space Trucker audio fiction series (as well as unreleased music and more!). It’s pretty cool.

I’ve got a bunch of stuff in the works. Patreon will be the place to get it before anyone else in the galaxy. Just click the only blue button below. You’ll dig it. I promise.
